YourLifeBox.com (“YourLifeBox.com”) is committed to the privacy of the personal information of its users.  YourLifeBox.com developed this Privacy Policy to share with you its information collection practices and the options you have when accessing or visiting www.YourLifeBox.com (the “Web Site” or the “Site”).  This Privacy Policy is an online Privacy Policy, applicable to this Web Site only.  By using YourLifeBox.com’s services and Web Site, you agree to the data practices outlined and explained in the Privacy Policy. 

YourLifeBox.com may occasionally update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will revise the "updated" date at the top of the Privacy Policy.  In the event that we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you either by placing a prominent notice on the home page of our Web Site or by sending you a notification directly. As referenced throughout this Privacy Policy, as well as our Terms of Use, the term “Personally Identifiable Information” means any piece of information that can potentially be used to uniquely identify, contact, or locate a single person and that YourLifeBox.com collects from you.  Personally Identifiable Information includes, without limitation, the following:  user name, password, first name, last name, address, e-mail address, phone number, birth date, credit card number, audio or video in which you are depicted or identifiable, etc.

Any Personally Identifiable Information collected by YourLifeBox.com will be safeguarded to protect against unauthorized access.  Procedures are in place to secure any personal information provided to YourLifeBox.com.  YourLifeBox.com stores your personal information in an encrypted computer database on dedicated servers that allow only limited access.  YourLifeBox.com employs commercially reasonable efforts to protect this information from loss, misuse, and other unauthorized disclosure, alteration or destruction.

You may browse the public pages of our Web Site and the various YourLifeBox.com stories without registering or providing any Personally Identifiable Information.  In order to post a YourLifeBox.com story, you will need to register as a YourLifeBox.com Member (“Member”).

What Information We Collect

If you register as a Member, YourLifeBox.com collects certain Personally Identifiable Information when you register, including your user name, password, first name, last name, address, e-mail address, and birth date. 

If you register for our “YLB Sponsorship” service, YourLifeBox.com will also collect a credit card number.  It is optional for you to decide whether to provide additional information beyond these items. 

If you choose to register with our service as a potential “YLB Supporter,” YourLifeBox.com collects the following Personally Identifiable Information from you when you register: first name, last name, company/organization name, email address. 

YourLifeBox.com does not target children under the age of 13 and does not offer or knowingly sell any of its products or services to children.  YourLifeBox.com does not knowingly collect any personal information about children under the age of 13.

How We Use Your Personally Identifiable Information

When you register as a Member, any information that you include in the narrative section of your Life Book story will be visible to the public.  Additional Personally Identifiable Information that will be visible to the public includes your user name, first name, last name, any photos you provide, the web address or URL of your YourLifeBox.com profile, your account activity, the date you opened your YourLifeBox.com account, and the date you last logged in. 

In addition, any Personally Identifiable Information or additional content (including video, audio, photos, or text) that you voluntarily disclose online becomes publicly available and can be viewed or accessed by others without restriction.

We will not sell (except in a transaction involving the sale of all or substantially all of the assets of YourLifeBox.com), rent, or lease the Personally Identifiable Information we store for our Members and/or potential YLB Supporters.  We will not share or exchange the Personally Identifiable Information we store for our Members and/or potential YLB Supporters with third party marketing companies without your permission.

If you register as a Member, we may use some of the following Personally Identifiable Information provided by you in order to promote your YourLifeBox.com story: pictures, video, audio, mailing address, full name, and e-mail address.  In addition, we may use some of the following Personally Identifiable Information provided by you in order to promote the YourLifeBox.com Web Site and company for business and marketing efforts and campaigns, as well as testimonials: pictures, video, audio, user name and any information that you make public.

When you register for our YLB Sponsorship service or renew your YLB Sponsorship service online, your credit card information is processed via a certified secure authority and is not stored by YourLifeBox.com. 

When you register as a Member, you will authorize us to release your contact information to potentially interested YLB Supporters.  When a potential YLB Supporter requests more information about your YourLifeBox.com profile, we provide the potential YLB Supporter with the following information previously approved by you for contact purposes, which may include e-mail, SMS messaging information, snail mail address, or otherwise through other various communication tools provided by YourLifeBox.com.

If you are registered with YourLifeBox.com as a YLB Supporter and you click on the “support” link at the bottom of the profile of a particular Member whom you are interested in supporting, you authorize us to share with that Member the following Personally Identifiable Information: first name, last name, company/organization name, email address, and any additional information you supply us with respect to your interest in supporting that Member.

YourLifeBox.com may choose to contract with third party service providers who assist in the processing of sponsorships and/or maintenance of YourLifeBox.com information or who provide other services or features to our Members or YLB Supporters from time to time.  Such service providers may be permitted restricted access to the information we collect from YLB Sponsorships and/or potential YLB Supporters solely in order to provide their services. In such event, these service providers are required to agree, in writing, that they will abide by the privacy statement and privacy standards implemented by YourLifeBox.com.

YourLifeBox.com may disclose your personal information if we are required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the law or comply with legal process served on YourLifeBox.com; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of YourLifeBox.com; or (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the safety of the public or users of YourLifeBox.com’s service.

Except as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy, we do not store any Personally Identifiable Information about visitors to our Site. However, we may use this information in aggregate form to track the number of visitors to our Site or for demographics information for our advertisers.

When Members and/or potential YLB Supporters visit our Web Site to update subscription information, our Web Site uses "non-persistent cookies," which are a form of technology that a server gives to your browser when you access our Web Site or a section of the Web Site.  The use of non-persistent cookies allows you to navigate our Web Site without being required to enter your password more than once during your visit to our Site.  Also, this cookie is deleted once you leave our Web Site.

Please note that our Web Site may contain links to other web sites that we believe may be useful to you.  YourLifeBox.com provides these links solely as a convenience to you.  However, this Privacy Policy and our information collection, use and sharing procedures do not apply to those web sites. Therefore, we recommend that you review the privacy policies provided by those web sites for information on their data collection and distribution practices.
